The collection of the n.b.k. Video-Forum sorted by running time by Karin Sander
On the occasion of the exhibition 494h 29m 53s, Karin Sander has invited Gudrun Gut and Käthe Kruse for one of the final evenings of the project at Hanseatenweg. Both artists are part of the n.b.k. Video Forum collection; their videos were and are currently being shown in the 494-hour long-term screening in the studio of the Akademie der Künste.
Following the video screening of Ulrike Ottinger's Exil Shanghai (1997), Käthe Kruse, former drummer of “Tödliche Doris” and an icon of the West Berlin punk scene, will open the event at 8:30 pm with the spoken-word performance KRIEG (WAR). The reading performance will be accompanied by Danielle de Picciotto on the violin. She was the founder of the Love Parade together with Dr. Motte and tours internationally with Alexander Hacke as hackedepicciotto. The haunting work KRIEG (WAR) combines an incessant enumeration of all documented wars since the beginning of our era with a dense soundscape in an 80-minute live performance.
This is followed by a special DJ set by Gudrun Gut: she plays her own and other people's music, old and new, freely and associatively through space and time. Who knows what is and what is to come? Gudrun Gut's music will glide and disrupt, be free and create, in the studio foyer it will be eclectic and good. Since 2007, Gudrun Gut has mainly performed as a solo artist.
An event as part of the exhibition project by Karin Sander at the Akademie der Künste in cooperation with n.b.k.
