Run Time Anomaly (premiere)

Performance

Simon Steen-Andersen, Wibke Storkan and László Sandig will temporarily occupy the iconic academy building on Hanseatenweg with a group of dancers from the Sasha Waltz & Guests youth dance company. They explore direct forms of interaction between movement, body, sound, video, space – and new perspectives on the physical properties of architecture. The experiences from this process will be documented on film and woven into a more fantastical narrative – following a group of young people moving through an abandoned, alien structure in which the laws of nature operate differently and dreamlike parallel worlds open up.

The resulting live performance expands the stage into a play between different levels of reality, in a soundscape of movement noises, subfrequencies that make the space vibrate, vintage synthesizers from the Akademie's E-Studio collection, cinematic genre references and the young dancers' favourite sounds.
