sample&hold #6: TRAIECT IV – Vietnam
New music for traditional Vietnamese instruments and electronics: TRAIECT (= Traditional Asian Instruments and Electronics) opens a dialogical space between traditional Asian music and contemporary composition. NGÔ Trà My and VŨ Thị Thùy Linh, two Vietnamese musicians, collaborate with the seven international composers LUONG Huê Trinh, HÀ Thúy Hãng, Michele Abondano, Eshan Khatibi, Julia Mihály, Emanuele Grossi and James Anderson.
Traditional Asian Instruments and Electronics – TRAIECT, is a project of the Hanover Society for New Music. In collaboration with FMSBW, the electronic studio of Hanover University of Music, Drama, and Media, composers from diverse backgrounds create new music for Asian instruments and electronics. The project began in 2017 with Korea, continued with Iran in 2018, explored Taiwan in 2021, and now, in its current fourth edition in 2023, focuses on Vietnam.
