Uwe Timm: Ikarien
Michael Hansen, 25, an American officer, returns to Germany at the end of April 1945. On behalf of the Secret Service, he is supposed to determine what role the racial hygienist Alfred Ploetz played in National Socialism. In Munich he encounters one of Ploetz’ earlier companions, who tells him about their friendship and involvement with alternative models for society – Marxian socialism and the utopian Icarian project. And so Hansen gets wind of Ploetz’ Faustian pact with the Nazis. Introduction by Mathias Greffrath.
