Sonar Quartett. Utopie Streichquartett VI: Now
The Sonar Quartett’s final two concerts in their quest for Utopia’s social relevance and its possible musical interpretations are performed in cooperation with the MaerzMusik 2017 festival. Retro, concert V, presents works by Wolfgang Rihm and Helmut Lachenmann dating from almost the same time yet exploring different worlds of sound. The final concert Now showcases recent pieces by Enno Poppe and Malte Giesen, and premieres works by Jörg Mainka and Chiyoko Szlavnics. In the interval between the concerts, Rainer Nonnenmann leads an audience discussion.
