Autonomy of the Mind. An Evening for György Konrád
Social commitment and artistic production were inextricably linked in the work of the writer György Konrád (1933–2019). As a Holocaust survivor, he opposed despotism and championed a united, democratic Europe. His texts on such issues as artistic freedom and human rights have not lost their relevance and are available for research in his literary estate. The Akademie der Künste will honour its former president and offer a forum for discussion among contemporary witnesses and companions.
