Christa Wolf and Sarah Kirsch exchanged letters over a period of nearly thirty years, from 1962 to 1990. The letters touch upon writing and the literature industry in the East and West, as well as personal and political matters. Sabine Wolf has edited the correspondence from the literary estates. The editor will talk with Gerhard Wolf, honorary member of the Akademie der Künste and a contemporary of the two writers, about a friendship between intimacy and alienation, hope and despair.
