Summer Party at Brecht House

Summer Party

The Brecht House opens its doors to celebrate the summer. This year, too, we invite you to a special programme with music on the courtyard stage, lyrical interludes and guided tours of the Brecht-Weigel Museum.

A reading and an exhibition in the Bertolt Brecht Archive will introduce you to a new side of the great poet: as a writer of letters who, despite his notorious laziness in writing, kept a network of widely scattered friends together through poignant correspondence.

To celebrate Weigel's year, a selection from his collection of her letters will be read at Brecht and Weigel's grave. In the subsequent “witching hour”, selected letters of the many artists buried in the Dorotheenstädtischer Friedhof (Dorotheenstadt Cemetery) will be read aloud.

An event organised by the Literaturforum im Brecht-Haus, the Brecht-Weigel Museum and the Bertolt Brecht Archive in cooperation with the Evangelischer Friedhofsverband Berlin Stadtmitte.
